On March 12-13, 2025, the Vietnam Wildlife Action Center (WildAct) organized a “Community Day on Migratory Bird Conservation” in Kim Trung and Kim Dong communes, Ninh Binh province. The event aimed to raise public awareness of the role of migratory birds in the ecosystem and the threats they face, as well as practical actions that people can take to contribute to migratory bird conservation.
The event attracted nearly 100 participants, including local leaders, organizations, people, and young people. The Community Day organized many highly educational activities and games, helping participants better understand migratory birds’ challenges. The games create a fun atmosphere and integrate knowledge related to migratory bird conservation in a fun and familiar way, helping participants have a more intuitive view of the threats that migratory birds face.
Nearly 200 media publications were given to the people, conveying many meaningful messages.
The event helped raise awareness among local people about the importance of migratory birds and their threats and better understand the negative impacts of hunting and habitat loss on these birds. Many people have pledged not to participate in hunting, trading, and consuming wild birds and proactively take action to protect the environment and migratory birds in the locality.
The program also received many positive responses from the community, hoping to continue to have more activities to raise awareness about wildlife and migratory bird conservation.
With the positive impacts of the Community Day, we hope that migratory bird conservation in Ninh Binh will receive more attention and a stronger response in the future.
