Vietnam is one of the most important areas in the East Asia-Australia bird flyway network. This means Vietnam is an important stopping point for migratory bird species. Over the years, WildAct has been conserving the Chinese Egret (Egretta eulophotes), Saunders's Gull (Larus saundersi), Black-faced Spoonbill (Platalea minor), and Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Calidris pygmaea), each of which has experienced significant population declines in recent years. Especially, Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Calidris pygmaea) is ranked "Extremely Endangered", and will become extinct in the future if we do not act to conserve.

Protect Our Winged Travelers

On World Migratory Bird Day 2024, WildAct formally launched the "Protect Our Winged Travelers" online pledge campaign with the goal of educating the public about the state of hunting and wild bird consumption and how it impacts the richness and balance of the Earth's ecosystem. From there, advocate for people's involvement in this subject and alter their opinions.

Every online contribution made will help to expand international efforts to protect migrating birds. Come along on our quest to preserve the enchantment of migratory species that help to keep ecosystems balanced. We appreciate your constant support during this adventure with WildAct!
