Board of Governors
Ha Thang Long PhD
Country Representative Frankfurt Zoological Society
Long is the Country Representative of the Frankfurt Zoological Society. He has started working in conservation since 1999, at the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre in Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam. In 2009, Long finished his PhD in Animal Ecology at the University of Cambridge, England. In 2012, he co-founded GreenViet, a non-profit organization working to conserve important ecosystems and endangered species in the Central and Central Highlands regions. Since 2022, he has participated in the management board of the Vietnam Conservation Fund to support local CSOs to expand their impact in conservation. He joins WildAct’s Board of Governors in 2023 to provide technical and fundraising support for WildAct, especially regarding strategic planning, advocacy, species and habitat conservation.

Heidi Quine MSc
Director of Bear and Vet Department
Heidi is the Director of the Veterinary and Bears Care Department for the Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre within Animals Asia. She is a strategic leader and media spokesperson with 22+ years of experience in the welfare and conservation sector. Heidi’s expertise is varied including strategic planning & execution, programme development, capacity building, team development & management, change management, compliance, reporting & budgeting, training & development, and strategic communication & partnerships. In 2018, Heidi completed her MSc degree in International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law from the University of Edinburgh and currently completing my MBA in Human Resources through the Australian Institute of Business. Her leadership is centred on the notion that "happy people means happy animals." Joining WildAct as a governing board member, Heidi expects to contribute her diverse expertise to strengthening WildAct governance, improving team leadership and capacity, as well as introducing potential fundraising and partnership.

Josh Kempinski MSc
Wildlife and Natural Heritage Advisor
Josh has currently worked as the advisor to the Wild & Natural Heritage Department of the Royal Commission for AlUla, in Saudi Arabia. Before that, Josh worked on species conservation and protected area management in Vietnam between 2004 and 2022, mostly with Fauna & Flora International (FFI). During that time, he also worked on climate/nature synergies in protected areas, mangrove systems, REDD+, and energy policy (mainly hydro-dams). He has been involved with various conservation and forest carbon/carbon market analysis projects in Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Australia, England, Tanzania and Mozambique. Josh finished his MSc degree in Ecological Management at Imperial College, London, England in 2004. Josh expects to provide technical support for WildAct in strategic planning, legality, governance, and assist WildAct to expand its influence at the regional and global levels.

Nguyen Thi Thu Trang
Founder & Executive Director
Dr. Trang Nguyen is a Vietnamese wildlife conservation scientist and practitioner. Born and raised in Vietnam, Trang has always been close to the plight of endangered wildlife and began her conservation efforts when she was just 16. In 2018, Trang finished her PhD in Biodiversity Management at the University of Kent, England.
Dr. Trang Nguyen is a Vietnamese wildlife conservation scientist and practitioner. Born and raised in Vietnam, Trang has always been close to the plight of endangered wildlife and began her conservation efforts when she was just 16. In 2018, Trang finished her PhD in Biodiversity Management at the University of Kent, England. Trang devotes her time to researching and monitoring the markets for illegal wildlife products. Her research has taken her across continents and contexts, from Asia to Africa, while exploring the demand for wildlife products. Dr. Trang Nguyen and WildAct team also invest in educating and raising Vietnamese youth’s awareness on this subject. Trang received a prestigious international award Future for Nature for her work in combating illegal wildlife trade in 2018. She was also named among global most influential women by the BBC in 2019 and received Princess of Girona Foundation Award in 2022.
Phan Thi Huong Giang
General Accountant
Ms. Phan Thi Huong Giang is General Accountant in WildAct. She has had 15 years in The regional Project “Network for Agriculture and Rural Development Think-tanks for Countries in Mekong sub-region”, Eduacation Project, Urban water supply and waste water project, Water Supply and Sanitation Project for 5 cities and towns … with demonstrated history of working at ODA Project. Before being a member of the WildAct’s family, she had worked as a project Accountant and Consulting service for assistance in designated accounts management.
Giang started her career as a General Accountant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Auditing. Giang is a reliable person, responsible for work and very grateful for a chance to prove herself at WildAct.

Tran Thi Yen
Operation Management Coordinator
Ms. Tran Thi Yen graduated with honors from the Vietnam National University of Agriculture and has gained valuable experience in the field of nature conservation. Throughout her career, she has passionately worked to protect biodiversity and share the incredible value of nature with the community.
Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to protecting biodiversity and raising public awareness of the intrinsic value of nature.
At WildAct, Ms. Yen aims not only to contribute her expertise but also to foster a positive, healthy, and open working environment where every individual is empowered to reach their full potential.
Ms. Tran Thi Yen graduated with honors from the Vietnam National University of Agriculture and has gained valuable experience in the field of nature conservation. Throughout her career, she has passionately worked to protect biodiversity and share the incredible value of nature with the community. At WildAct, Ms. Yen aims not only to contribute her expertise but also to foster a positive and open work environment where everyone is encouraged to grow and collaborate to create meaningful changes for nature.

Le Thu Ha
Public Relations and Fundraising Coordinator
Graduated with a major in Public Relations at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, Thu Ha took a further step as a Public Relations and Donors Engagement Officer at WildAct. Ha has always desired to make work that provides positive values to the community, contributing to establishing a better social life day by day, starting with multi-platform media campaigns concentrating on mental health and green lifestyle.
As a girl who enjoys learning about communication case studies, Ha hope that her contributions will assist in spreading the excellent activities of WildAct throughout the community about wildlife conservation.
Currently, she is working at the position of Communication & Fund-Raising Coordinator at WildAct. Take responsibility for the development, publication and distribution of all online and offline communication materials and manage WildAct communications strategies including website, print, social media, and public relations.

Bui Minh Tue Thu

Tue Thu is a girl who since childhood has wanted to do work that can create social impact. Born in Nghe An and raised in a family surrounded by plants and animals, she has always had a strong connection with nature. When working at WildAct, she feels happy because this is where she can use her communication skills to raise awareness about environmental problems in the community. Tue Thu graduated with honours with a major in International Relations & Global Communication at the Academy of Journalism and Communication. Hopefully in the future Tue Thu and WildAct will grow together to be able to carry out many projects on the journey protecting wildlife.
In particular, Tue Thu is a girl with a great interest in cinema and travel. So in her free time, it is common for her friends to see her handling a camera to capture moments of experiential trips. Tue Thu also cherishes the plan to make documentaries on the topic of "Wildlife", hoping that the girl's plans can come true in the future.

Species and Habitat Program Manager
Mr. Lê Quốc Thưởng has many years of experience in conservation, working with both international and local conservation organizations.
Mr. Lê Quốc Thưởng has many years of experience in conservation, working with both international and local conservation organizations. With a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, Thưởng aspires to collaborate with WildAct on advanced research initiatives while managing and ensuring the quality of two significant projects: the conservation of migratory birds in the Red River Delta Biosphere Reserve (RRDB) and the preservation of large mammals in Chư Yang Sin National Park. Thưởng is dedicated to contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s conservation sector, not only through research methodologies but also by fostering interdisciplinary partnerships.

Luong Thi Khanh Linh
Awareness raising and Education Coordinator
Linh graduated with a degree in Natural Resource Management from the Vietnam National University of Forestry. With a desire to contribute to the conservation of wildlife in Vietnam, even as a student, Linh helped establish a wildlife conservation club named YCC with fellow students at the university. Their aim was to deepen students' understanding of the urgency, threats, and importance of wildlife conservation. After graduating, Linh gained experience working with several NGOs focused on wildlife conservation, forest restoration, and protecting natural landscapes.
Seeking to raise awareness and gradually change attitudes and behaviors towards wildlife conservation within the local community, Linh joined WildAct as a Community Officer. Hopefully, Linh will accompany WildAct in community awareness-raising activities for wildlife conservation and biodiversity in Vietnam.

Ngoc Anh has participated in community activities on nature conservation and organized propaganda exhibitions at the University of Forestry. She was able to experience and participate in new social activities on issues related to conservation. Those experiences are not taught to her by any school, and it makes Ngoc Anh feel that she needs to do more for the community in general and conservation in particular. After participating in the SCNC 2023 event, Ngoc Anh had the opportunity to work with WildAct and become a member at the organization as an education and awareness officer. Hopefully, Ngoc Anh's journey with WA will bring more value to the community and the conservation industry.

As a person inspired by the impact of the training course in wildlife conservation of WildAct (CWT 2024), Phuong has applied to be a volunteer for WildAct to support educational communication projects. For 2 months, she has worked on the logistic preparation process for the community project in bird conservation for the Women's Union in Ninh Binh.
These experiences allow her to understand effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders in a project. WildAct’s working environment and culture not only bring a long-term impact on conservation stories but also empower women to take responsibility for wildlife conservation. She treasures the journey as a volunteer of WildAct, with the learning opportunities she has received and improved her capacity and knowledge in wildlife conservation.
