Dr. Trang Nguyen's Visit to Kenya's Lumo Conservation: Lessons for WildAct's Biodiversity Efforts

Dr. Trang Nguyễn, Founder and Director of WildAct, is honored to be one of the recipients of the Future for Nature Award. Her visit to the Lumo Nature Reserve in Kenya provided her with an excellent opportunity to learn about community-based conservation models, where people and nature grow together sustainably.

During the trip, Dr. Trang met with and learned from the anti-poaching patrol team at Lumo, who are implementing innovative and effective conservation methods. She listened to their incredible success stories, as well as the challenges they face in protecting wildlife. The community conservation model there has been a great inspiration, demonstrating that when communities collaborate, the strength to protect nature becomes even more powerful.

This trip not only provided valuable lessons but also opened up the possibility of applying effective conservation models in Vietnam. WildAct is continuously striving to protect the forests at Chư Yang Sin National Park. Dr. Trang hopes that the lessons learned from Lumo will help the organization develop a community-based conservation model in Vietnam, thereby safeguarding biodiversity and preventing illegal wildlife hunting.

WildAct would like to express its sincere gratitude to the Future for Nature Foundation for funding this meaningful trip and creating opportunities for connecting conservationists around the world. Together, we can make a positive impact, protecting wildlife and our natural environment.
