Wings of Discovery: 130 Students Connect with Migratory Birds in Vibrant Wetlands
Theory and practice always go hand in hand, and understanding this core element, in the fourth quarter of 2024, WA organized two field trip activities for students from four secondary schools in the provinces of Ninh Bình and Thái Bình. These trips were held at the Vân Long Wetland Reserve and the Cồn Đen Ecotourism Area, giving students and teachers the opportunity to explore and learn about migratory birds and wetland ecosystems.
The students and teachers from Yên Đồng and Yên Thắng Secondary Schools in Yên Mô district, Ninh Bình, had an exciting and enjoyable experience as they rode boats on the Vân Long Lagoon, watching flocks of migratory birds flying overhead. Over 60 students and teachers listened to a presentation from the Vân Long Lagoon Management Board on migratory birds, with the Vân Long wetland providing an enriching and valuable learning session.

They also trekked through the mangrove forest to see how migratory birds live in this area. With nearly 70 enthusiastic students and teachers participating, the field trip provided practical knowledge about migratory birds and wetland ecosystems, raising awareness of the responsibility to conserve migratory birds in particular and wildlife in general.
